Lubna Azabal is being recognized for her talent once again, following an already illustrious career. In 2011, she won the Jutra for Best Actress for her role in Denis Villeneuve's "Incendies." A year later, she became the Magritte Award winner for Best Actress for the same performance. Her role in "Tueurs," a film by François Troukens and Jean-François Hensgens, also earned her the Best Actress trophy at the 9th Magritte Awards.
Through her cinematic choices, she is committed to exploring the fractures present in our societies, fearlessly embracing all genres. Whether portraying the irresistible capricious diva in "Tel Aviv on Fire," playing the role of the apocalypse survivor in the series "L’Effondrement," or interpreting the modern Antigone figure in "Pour la France."
In "Amal," a teacher in a Brussels school, encourages her students to cultivate a love for reading and freedom of expression, even at the risk of her own safety. Her bold teaching methods will change the lives of her students.
