Havana, Cuba, Autumn 1990. René Gonzalez, 33, a former soldier with a chiseled face, leads a peaceful life with his wife and daughter. One evening, he flew to Florida, without informing his relatives. Everyone then thinks of a desertion. His family, abandoned, left to fend for themselves, sinks into lasting sadness. Police accuse him of betraying the Cuban cause. But in reality, René left for the United States as a spy for the government.
He is one of the "Five Cubans", agents who infiltrated America in the early 90s. As the Cold War came to an end, these men were sent by the Cuban counterintelligence services to monitor a group. Florida-based anticastrist and responsible for violent attacks against Cuba. René and the other spies will then try to do everything to prevent new attacks on Cuban soil, but they will soon be spotted by the American intelligence services.
