François Ozon adapts Camus’ novel "L'Etranger" for the big screen.

Filming began in April 2025 in Morocco.

Sixty years after Visconti, it is now Ozon’s turn to tackle this literary masterpiece, with Benjamin Voisin cast as Meursault.
The novel, first published in 1942, is one of the most widely read in the world, translated into more than 75 languages. Camus himself refused any adaptation during his lifetime.
Ozon, known for his bold reinterpretations, now returns to a more stripped-down and faithful style. He reunites with Benjamin Voisin, whom he previously directed in "Ete 85", a role that earned the actor a César nomination, before he won the Most Promising Actor award in 2022.
